Special 26 is as special as its title is. The filmmaker Neeraj Pandey produces an extremely excitement and extraordinary entertainment with his new release. He is a filmmaker who establishes himself with a lucrative debut ‘A Wednesday’ and successfully glues you on your seat while watching his movies. His Special 26 has nothing like his first release which was purely portraying the social theme, and, indeed brings all necessary ingredients of a commercial movie.

Special 26 has a hit stardom cast such as Akshay Kumar, Anupam Khaer and many more that surely make the movie lively. Askhay is portraying Ajay Singh who does extremely well in fooling people as a CBI team along with his partner PK Sharma (played by Anupam Kher). His so called CBI team includes Rajesh Sharma and Kishore Kadam too. The team conducts raids at a number of well-known Politicians and Businessmen. They fool them by getting away with their cash and valuables without any difficulty because no one repots their crime for the money they lose was never white money. Until they deceive a real cop Ranveer Singh (played by Jimmy Sheirgill) for helping them carry out a giant robbery. Ranveer swears vengeance for the suspension he has had because of them. He meets the genuine CBI officer Wasim Khan (played by Manoj Bajpayee) and shows him every finding to catch the fake CBI Team. The rest of Special 26 is about whether the real CBI team will be able to catch the false earlier than they carry out their biggest con i.e. looting Bombay's most esteemed jewels or not.

Special 26 is inspired by the real life happening in 1987 in the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri but it does not carry sequence of events. In its place it changes the story and produces it an intelligent, smart and tight suspenseful story. Special 26 involves humor and superb script which make the movie truly praiseworthy. Neeraj Pandey thoroughly has recreated the era of 1980 by means of every old wagons similar to Contessa or Matador Vans. Moreover he recreates Ambassadors to the costumes and fashion of all actors. Neeraj even successfully presents high orchestrated background which is from top to bottom evocative of the times of 1980. He indeed has walked an extra mile to get an extremely well finish on the print of the Special 26. Although the movie has some flaws like the loving track of Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal which is completely nonsense and breaks off the actions but the strongest script lets you ignore minor flaws easily. Special 26 has a perfect blend of story and acting. Akshay Kumar has presented an extraordinary and award winning performance in the role of a shrewd conman Ajay Singh. Anupam Kher is always brilliant and this time he really leaves the mark of an experienced person throughout the movie. Manoj Bajpayee portrays his role of CBI officer really well and is praiseworthy. Jimmy Sheirgill Rajesh Sharma and Kishore Kadam are also good and impressive at their parts. . Special 26, to cut a long story short, is a modest intelligent movie that has magic of drawing attention of Hindi Cinema’s viewers and leaving a long-lasting impact. One must watch it.
