Gangster Squad (2013) - Movie Review

The inspiring movie Gangster Squad has been basically derived from a true story and a non fiction novel written by Paul Lieberman. The movie is very stylish and designed to make a very sleek output, but it has been given a very different kind of a look. The movie seems to be like the kind of a picture narrating the stories of blood and gore but there is a very deep message and story behind that. The theme of Gangster Squad has been basically taken from the true story. The story is about the mobster cop and the adventurous narration of the activities of the Los Angeles police who successfully arrested the powerful gangsters in 1949. The beginning of the Gangster Squad is in a very dramatic way in which the destruction of the whole Los Angeles has been shown. The whole corporate lot along with the politicians and police are being controlled by a very ruthless mafia don. This character is being played by Mickey Cohen.
In other words Mickey Cohen is playing a very brutal character that is controlling each and every system of the state of LA. Although all the police department is under the control of Mickey Cohen, there are some honest cops as well like John O’ Mara. John O’ Mara has been given the task of reaching and destroying Mickey Cohen by the Chief of police of LA. There are many other cops included in this squad which has been prepared to spot Mickey Cohen. One among them is the sergeant Jerry Wooters. Jerry Wooters is a great womanizer and this skill of him is used in spotting and trapping the moll of Cohen who is Grace Faraday. Gradually the womanizer skills of Jerry Wooters help him to finally make Grace Faraday a part of their plan.

Along with these main characters, the squad of the cop in Gangster Squad is completed by other characters which are adding further strength to that of the John O’ Mara. Among these the major ones include the cop who is Coleman Harris. This cop played by Coleman Harris is further aided in his expression by an old cowboy who is also a sharp shooter played by Max Kennard and a technology expert Conwell Keeler. Last but not the least, the novice in the form of Navidad Ramirez is also present in the movie Gangster Squad. The task of capturing the don seems to be the fool’s mission. The main leader cop, along with Coleman Harris, Max Kennard and Conwell Keeler raid on several places in search of the don. They carry out a series of raids in different places pointed out by Grace Faraday and planned by all but Conwell Keeler playing the major role in planning the attacks. The strategic help is also provided by Max Kennard and Navidad Ramirez. But the plan also guarantees a steady stream of adrenaline-pumping action and is further strengthened by the acting of Navidad Ramirez.
