Table No.21 (2013) - Movie Review
The Filmmaker Aditya Dutt who is famous for his popular Bhatt film Aashiq Banaya Aapne brings an interesting concept with his new film Table No.21. It is an out of the ordinary movie that is about a game table no.21 that changes the life of a romantic couple. The filmmaker brings not very famous but good actors such as Rajeev Khandelwal and Tina Desae in the lead role. The couple wins a fully-paid tour to the Fiji Island for their wedding anniversary. They spend a good time in the beautiful locations of Fiji. Suddenly they meet Paresh Rawal who plays Mr. Khan in Table No.21 and is the host of a millionaire restaurateur cum game show. He offers the couple to play a game Table No.1 which can make them owner of 21crs. The most interesting and dangerous rule of the game is that once you start playing then you cannot quit. Lying at any stage can result in your death. The movie then has a sequence of twist and mingles love, lies, reality, betrayal, wealth and wits.
Strangely enough, Rajeev Khandelwal who has hosted a reality show of similar topic, is portrayed as less vicious in Table. No 21. Aditya Dutt beautifully illustrated a thriller of a game along with charming locations of Fiji, some songs and dance sequences. On the other hand, as the film starts telling itself with each the grisly task that the actors execute, everyone among the audiences starts guessing the idea about the actual plot of the movie with no trouble.
Although, Aditya Dutt has put a combination of suspense, thriller, romance and numerous human characteristics to Table No.21, but there are many escapes too in its plot that continue as the film progresses. The real attraction of the movie is three characters that are played by Rajeev Khandelwal as Vivaan, Tina Desae as Siya and Paresh Rawal as Mr. Khan who have perfectly played their parts
Table No. 21, may not be a 10 out of 10 film on the box office but the execution of the plot, acting and thrilling concept is worthy of one time watch.
