Race 2 (2013) - Movie Review

Abbas-Mustan is a famous name of thriller and action movies in Indian cinema, however the name has been failed to make out success for their movies for a while. Even their last movie ‘Players’ did not leave a positive impact on the Hindi cinema and declared as flop on the box office. However Abbas Mustan do not loose hope and have brought Race 2 which is a sequel of their blockbuster movie ‘Race. It is yet to be seen whether the sequel works the same as its first did.

Race 2 is mainly about Saif Ali Khan who is playing Ranveer Singh in this thriller action.
He is in the search of his girlfriend’s murderer to punish him for her death. He initially sets off with Vikram Thappar (played by Rajesh Khattar) who owns many casinos and is an employee of Armaan Mallik (played by John Abraham). Deepika Padukone depicts Arman’s step sister in Race 2 who helps him to turn the casino king from a street-fighter. Money is everything for Armaan which makes him do everything and go every extent to earn it. Ranveer comes to know about his weakness so he gets him with a huge money double-crossing plan. He meets Armaan with the help of Robert D'Costa aka RD (played by Anil Kapoor) and Armaan does not wait a single and be with him. They mutually work out for a plan of great heist that taps the covering of Turin. On the other hand, Armaan has no idea that Ranveer is an untrue master and has a different plan overall.

Race 2 has a lot of excited and attractive twists and turns but its adventure does not hold you right till the end. Like its first part ‘Race’, Abbas-Mustan bring same outline in Race 2 too however courtesy loses the vapor when the inevitability of the events sets up to go in. Right after the interval to the end, the audience easily slips into the temperament of the movie and starts predicting. Moreover it is only boring where the repetitiveness takes place to the end. 
Race 2 has been shot in the beautiful and expensive locations of Italy, Turkey, Cyprus and many other countries. Abbas-Mustan has succeffsully added the glamour and beauty by presenting Deepika Padukone and Jacqueline Fernandez in highly stylish way. Race 2 has brilliant editing and the music does not magnetize you.
On the casting ranks, Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor like Race are the best in its sequel too. Saif Ali Khan comes with handsome looks and acted very well. Anil Kapoor is also good and brilliantly plays his part. John Abraham does not justify with his character especially as soon as he opens his mouth and not good at his acting. Deepika Padukone plays a good character, looks good whereas Jacqueline has nothing much to do in the movie. Ameesha Patel is also in the movie but does not play anything else than RD's sex-hungry secretary.

Overall, Race 2 is a typical action thriller movie with all kind of ingredients to entertain the audience. The movie’s extraordinary action, glamour, music and splendor make it a good watch.
