10ml Love (2012) - Movie Review
With ‘10 ML Love’, Filmmaker Sharat Katariya projects a version of Shakespeare's famous comedy of errors, ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’. Let’s find out if it works for Hindi cinema’s audience. ‘10ml Love’ is about 6 different characters. Shweta (played by Tara Sharma) is a rich but unpleasant person who is engaged to Neel (played by Purab Kohli) but does not love him. She is in love with an unfortunate mechanic Peter Pareira (played by Neil Bhoopalam).
Neel has a childhood friend Mini (played by Keol Puri) who loves him and wants to marry him. Ghalib (Rajat Kapoor) sells aphrodisiacs in the narrow lanes of M. Ali Road. His married life is not good as he continuously doubts on his wife Roshni (played by Tisca Chopra).
Ghalib has a mother too who aims to save his married by a love liquid remedy that spreads a magic enchantment on those who sip it as well as makes them be in love with the one they glimpse at for first time after drinking it. Rest of ‘10ml Love’ circles around these six characters that entangle in a very funny confusion when the love liquid remedy works unexpectedly.
Sharat Katariya has brought a combination of simple humor of errors with all modern difficulties of life. Even if ‘10ML Love’ is not a complete comedy but this modern adaptation of the Shakespeare’s play which is crowded with good amount of cheerful comedy, certainly brings a sudden smile on your face. Even the length of the film does not make you bore which is a plus point for any movie.
Choosing right cast for a movie is always favorable for the film. ‘10ml Love’ is packed with good actors that suit their characters. Rajat Kapoor is the main attraction of the movie and has done a perfect part. Tisca Chopra has proven herself the most undervalued performer in Bollywood. She does her role naturally. Purab Kohli, Koel Puri and Tara Sharma are also good in their parts.
On the whole, ‘10ML Love’ bears a good adaptation of Shakespeare’s comedy. It grasps attraction of audience and worth to be watched once.
