Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana (2012) - Review

Anurag Kashyap‘s ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ is a sweet-spicy mix production. Anurag Kashyap is a big name of grainy and brooding films; he now intends to change his icon with a flavorful film for Bollywood movies lovers and viewers around the world.
Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ is a story of Kunal Kapoor who is playing Omi Khurana in the film. He wants to stash for money but his outlook does not let him go far. Two big gangsters Shenty and Menty benefit from his courtesy and involve him in a mess of 50,000 pound mortgage. Omi does not find any way out to get rid of such situation. He plans to escape from London to Punjab where he could ask some moolah to help him pay off his massive loan.

On the other hand, Omi’s family is angry with him because he wanted to go to London for earning pounds. Omi had left his family business of ‘dhaba’ for this purpose, and had stolen lots of money too. Omi did not end here; he threw an apologetic note on his Daarji and then his girlfriend Harman’s door and ran away.  However when he returns his homeland, everybody welcomes him. Vinod Nagpal plays Omi Khurana’s Daarji whereas Huma Quershi is his beautiful beloved ‘Harman’ in Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’.
A new story begins on the return of Omi. Kunal Kapoor beautifully plays Omi’s role, who is now anxious and wants to take out the recipe of chicken Khurana, a famous dish of his dhaba that helped it grow rapidly. Only Daarji remembered the recipe, however he dies and no body else is familiar with the recipe that could save the dhaba from ruining. Omi has now been offered 1 crore as a prize money if he is successful in revealing the recipe of chicken khurana. Omi is determined to find the most wanted recipe. Will he unearth the recipe? Will he be able to get rid of his giant loan? The rest part of ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ is based on the answers of the above questions.

Film director Sameer Sharma has tried to give a very ‘full of feeling’ look to ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’. The story is simple and could be described in a short way. The movie itself has no flaws. Sameer Sharma brilliantly utilized a recipe to flow around the story and its characters. He gives a picture of a plain and realistic small town of Punjab instead showing idealized Punjab with blossoming green grazing land and wealthy outfits.

Huma Qureshi and Kunal Kapoor as the main pair of
Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ look good and have justified with their roles. The rest cast includes Vipin Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Vinod Nagpal , Dolly Ahluwalia ,and Rahul Bagga. Dialogues of the movie are written by Sumit Bhateja..

Like an ordinary Hindi movie, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ introduces its characters and sets up backdrop in the beginning. The rest part is attractive and makes you stay at your place till the end. On the whole the entire movie is a delicious banquet that is full of humor and fun.
